Touchaheart blog reports that the Sultan of Sokoto has finally spoken after Saudi Arabia confirmed that Muslims across the world will fast today, Wednesday, 12th May, 2021 owing the inability to sight moon that would signal the end of Ramadan.
There has been a lot of controversy surrounding that report as some Nigerians believe they still need to hear from the Sultan of Sokoto.
In Nigeria, the Sultan is considered to be one of the most reliable sources of information however, the religious leader has confirmed that Eid-Fitr would be observed on Thursday, 13th May, 2021.
He said: “This confirms the sighting of the new moon of Shawwal 1442AH on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, which is the 29th day of Ramadan 1442AH. Therefore, Wednesday, May 12, 2021, is the 30th day of the month of Ramadan 1442AH”.
This statement implies that all Muslims across the country must observe their fast today, 12th May, 2021.
Similarly, Thursday 13 May is now the end of Ramadan and may Almighty Allah accept it as an act of Ibadah for all Muslim Brothers and Sisters.
