London Marathon 2021: Joyciline Jepkosgei Upsets Brigid Kosgei To Win
Touchaheart Nigeria reports that Joyciline Jepkosgei upset Kenyan compatriot and world record holder Brigid Kosgei in a daring run to win her first London Marathon Title.

The 27 year old, who won the New York Marathon in 2019, around 22 miles, made the crucial move.

Jepkosgei won in 2 hours 17 minutes and 42 seconds, despite a brief rally by Kosgei.
The first Briton to arrive was Charlotte Purdue, who was controversially left out of the Tokyo 2020 selection process.
Purdue placed 10th in a personal best 2:23.26, just a tenth of a second behind second-ranked Mara Yamauchi on the British all-time chart but well within the qualifying requirement for next year’s World Championships in Oregon.
Kosgei, who competed only 57 days after winning the Olympic silver in Tokyo, faded to fourth.
