Why EFCC Arrested Ganduje’s Wife
Hafsat Ganduje, the wife of Kano state governor Abdullahi Ganduje, was reportedly arrested by the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).
Mrs Ganduje was referred to the anti-graft agency by her son for her suspected involvement in bribery and land fraud, according to a report monitored by Touchaheart Nigeria on Premium Times.
Touchaheart Nigeria reports that according to people familiar with Abdulazeez’s appeal, he claimed that he was approached by a property developer to assist in the acquisition of various land plots in Kano for hundreds of thousands of dollars and at least 35 million Naira in “facilitation commission.”
Abdulazeez stated he paid the money to his mother, Mrs Ganduje, in dollars.
She, on the other hand, did not accept the anti-graft invitation after it had been extended for weeks.
Touchaheart also learnt that Mrs Ganduje was still at the EFCC headquarters as of 6 a.m. on Monday.
