Bill Clinton, The Former President Of The United States, Has Been Admitted To The Hospital
Touchaheart Nigeria reports that Bill Clinton was hospitalized to a Los Angeles hospital two days ago for treatment of a “non-Covid infection,” according to a spokesman.
“On Tuesday evening former President Bill Clinton was admitted to University of California, Irvine, medical center for treatment of a non-Covid infection,” said Angel Ureña, a Clinton spokesman, on Twitter.
“He is on the mend, in good spirits, and incredibly thankful to the doctors, nurses and staff providing him with excellent care,” Ureña said
According to medics treating the former president at UCMI, Clinton, 75, was in the intensive care unit only to give him privacy and was not on a breathing machine.
According to CNN, his ailment has nothing to do with his previous heart problems or Covid-19. A second statement from Clinton’s spokesman quoted physicians Dr Alpesh Amin and Dr. Lisa Bardack, who said the former president has been “administered IV antibiotics and fluids”.
“After two days of treatment, his white blood cell count is trending down and he is responding to antibiotics well,” the doctors said.
“The California-based medical team has been in constant communication with the president’s New York-based medical team, including his cardiologist. We hope to have him go home soon.”
Clinton’s health has been a concern in the years since he departed the White House in 2001.
After suffering from chest problems and shortness of breath for a long time, he underwent quadruple bypass surgery in 2004. In 2005, he went to the hospital for surgery on a partially collapsed lung, and in 2010, he had a pair of coronary stents placed.
He replied by adopting a mostly vegan diet, which helped him lose weight and improve his health. He returned to the campaign trail several times for Democratic candidates, most notably his wife, Hillary Clinton, during her failed 2008 presidential quest.
Bill Clinton, by then a grandpa and approaching 70, returned to the campaign trail in 2016, as Hillary Clinton ran for President as the Democratic nominee.
The former president was in the Los Angeles region for private activities relating to his philanthropic organization, according to a representative for the Clinton Foundation.
