Sheikh Gumi warns Buhari: Declare Bandits Terrorists, End Nigeria

Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, a Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari’s government against declaring bandits terrorists.

Touchaheart Nigeria reports that Gumi cautioned that if the Federal Government declared bandits to be terrorists, Nigeria would cease to exist as a sovereign and cohesive nation.

Sunday night, the Islamic cleric revealed this in a Facebook post.

He did admit, however, that the havoc wreaked by bandits in the Northwest was terrorism.

Despite the damage, Gumi emphasized that criminalizing outlaws would have serious implications that would devour the entire country.

“The atrocities the bandits are conducting presently in NW have increasingly become comparable to terrorism since it’s pure terrorism whenever innocent people are tragic victims,” he stated.

“It may appeal to a large number of teaming unemployed adolescents. Shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ and brandishing an AK47 against a secular immoral society where impunity rules is a magnet for extremists and the underprivileged, which includes the bulk of our youth. These lethal terrorist organizations are already battling for the souls of these bandits.

“This will give criminality a spiritual cover and erase the stigma of being associated with such atrocities since they will claim to be fighting a ‘Jihad.'”

“This craziness has wreaked havoc on New England for over a decade and is currently doing havoc on the state. NW will be in ruins sooner rather than later if we allow terror to infiltrate these naive, unexposed outlaws.

“Convert bandits into religious fanatics.” So, tell me, what’s left of Nigeria?”
