Touchaheart Nigeria reports that Sudan’s military has deposed the government and declared a state of emergency.
General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the leader of Sudan’s executive body, announced the dissolution of the transitional government and the sovereign council on Monday and imposed a statewide state of emergency.
Burhan reaffirmed his commitment to “the transition towards a civilian state” just hours after the information ministry announced the majority of civilians in the two bodies, including the prime minister, had been detained.

He promised to construct a “competent” government, to establish several state institutions such as the supreme court, and to maintain Sudan’s commitment to international agreements.
