The residence of Supreme Court Justice Mary Odili is invaded by EFCC agents

According to information verified by Touchaheart News Nigeria on Peoples Gazette, armed operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) visited Supreme Court Justice Mary Odili’s residence.

Touchaheart Nigeria reports that according to sources, the operatives came at Mrs Odili’s Abuja apartment on Friday evening and immediately attempted to break in.

The judge quickly and vehemently opposed the operatives’ attempts to raid her home, claiming that she had no business with them.

“She told them to go and meet her husband because she does not have any matter pending before them,” our source said under anonymity because they did not get permission to comment on an ongoing operation.

On Friday evening, at least 50 operatives were said to have arrived at the senior jurist’s Abuja residence with immediate plans to break in.

The EFCC has charged Peter Odili, the Supreme Court jurist’s husband and former Rivers governor, with corruption.

A federal judge ordered the politician’s international passport to be returned immediately earlier this week, stating that anti-graft prosecutors had failed to demonstrate reasons for the passport’s continued custody.

Officials were unable to clarify whether the current standoff at Mrs Odili’s home was related to her husband’s case.

The news comes five years after State Security Service operatives broke into the homes of nearly a dozen federal judges, including three Supreme Court justices at the time.

Some of the judges have now died, and their families’ health has deteriorated as a result of the searches.

The EFCC has been contacted by the Gazette and messages have been conveyed to them.
