Touchaheart Nigeria reports that Senator Danjuma Goje, the former Governor of Gombe State, was reportedly humiliated on Friday in Gombe, the state capital.
According to Lilian Nworie, the lawmaker’s spokesman, some political thugs attacked her principal’s vehicles at the International Conference Centre on the Bauchi – Gombe Road.
As Goje was ready to visit the state capital for a personal engagement, his vehicles were attacked with hazardous weapons, according to Nworie.
The thugs ignited bonfires on the main route, blocking the Gombe Central Senator from entering the state, according to the media assistant.
Nworie, on the other hand, blamed the attack on the state governor, Inuwa Yahaya, and said that police personnel stationed in the area failed to apprehend the thugs during the incident.
She said, “Senator Goje had a serious encounter with some political thugs who burnt tyres on the main road as he was about to enter the state capital around International Conference Centre on the Bauchi
“Policemen stationed at the area refused to call the thugs to order as they were watching them cause mayhem in the state.”
Touchaheart Nigeria reports that the Gombe Governor had previously dismissed claims of a dispute with Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje.
Governor Yahaya indicated in a September interview with BBC Hausa Service that he has no disagreements with Goje over who should lead the party in the state, but that the party’s arrangements must be followed.
The governor also stated that they are all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and that they must adhere to the party’s rules.
“There is no row between him and me; it’s only that the party must give everyone a chance and remain honest.
“If I go astray, then I should be put back on track, and if anyone goes astray they should also be brought back on the track,” he said
