Touchaheart Nigeria reports that Professor Charles Soludo, a candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has been declared victorious in 17 of the 21 local government elections so far held in Anambra State.
With this development, the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is getting closer to being declared the winner of the 2021 Anambra governorship race.
As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continues to release the results of Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra, Soludo’s advantage over other contenders has grown gradually.
Dunukofia, Awka North, Awka South, Oyi, Ayamelum, Anaocha, Anambra East, Idemili North, Idemili South, Onitsha North, Onitsha South, Njikoka, Nnewi South, Anambra West, Aguata, Orumba South, and Ekwusigo local government areas have all voted for the APGA candidate so far.
Ifeanyi Uba, the governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), and Valentine Ozigbo, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have both won one LGA, while Andy Uba, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has yet to win any LGA.
In Ogbaru LGA, Ozigbo won, while Uba won in Nnewi North.
