Buhari Departs Paris To South Africa, See Why

President Muhammadu Buhari will leave Paris on Saturday for Durban, South Africa, to accept President Cyril Ramaphosa’s special invitation.

Touchaheart Nigeria reports that on Monday, Buhari will attend the opening ceremony of the 2nd Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) 2021, which will be attended by other African leaders.

The African Export-Import Bank (AFREXIM), in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC) and the secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), is hosting the event from November 15 to 21.

The meeting, according to presidential spokesman Femi Adesina, aims to encourage trade and investment on the continent.

The fair will advocate for a business-friendly climate, identify and propose solutions to barriers to trade, and collect market data necessary to link buyers and sellers across Africa.

According to Adesina, worldwide enterprises, especially non-African international brands, are anticipated to take advantage of the fair’s potential.

The Nigerian president will be accompanied by Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Niyi Adebayo, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment.

Ahmed Abubakar, Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), and Segun Awolowo, Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), are among the others.

On Tuesday, November 16, President Buhari is expected to return home.
