According To A Doctor, Queen Elizabeth, 95, could take three months to recuperate from a Back Strain

According to a doctor, Queen Elizabeth’s back ailment could take three months to heal.

Touchaheart Nigeria reports that due to a sprain in her back, Her Majesty was obliged to withdraw from the Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph in London.

Buckingham Palace issued a statement on her behalf, expressing her “disappointment” at not being able to attend the commemoration of all those who served in World War One.

The statement on Sunday read:

“The Queen, having sprained her back, has decided this morning with great regret that she will not be able to attend today’s Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph. Her Majesty is disappointed that she will miss the service.

“As in previous years, a wreath will be laid on Her Majesty’s behalf by The Prince of Wales.

“His Royal Highness, along with the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra will be present at the Cenotaph today as planned.”

Dr. Yousaf Shah, a specialist orthopaedic spine surgeon at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, stated in The Sun that recovering from a back sprain normally takes two to six weeks.

However, considering the Queen is 95 years old, it may be necessary to spend twice as much.

He stated she was “absolutely right” to decline the service because it would have required her to stand for longer periods of time, placing further strain on her back.

Dr. Shah said it “remains to be seen” whether the back sprain is a one-time occurrence or a long-term condition that “comes and goes.”

‘It is important to have a proper strategy in mind for her recovery,” he stated, explaining how Her Majesty will most likely utilize anti-inflammatory lotions and medications to relieve the pain.
