Sanwo-Olu Estimates That Lagos Will Require $15 billion In Infrastructure Over The Next Five Years

Touchaheart Nigeria reports that due to its growing population and limited geographical space, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has revealed that the state will require $15 billion in infrastructure over the next five years.

On Thursday, the Governor stated this while speaking at the Office of the Sustainable Development Goals and Investment’s third Lagos Investors’ Roundtable and the introduction of the Deal Book.

The Governor claims that such a rule is necessary due to the state’s growing population and limited geographical territory.

This was contained in a statement by Gboyega Akosile, chief press secretary to the governor, Sanwo-Olu.

“We believe that given the rising population and limited geography space that we have, Lagos will indeed require about $15 billion over the next five years on infrastructure alone. $15 billion is about five times the budget that we currently have. Lagos’ budget is about $3 billion today,” the statement quoted Sanwo-Olu as saying.
