All Travellers Are Mandated By The UK To Take PCR Test, See Why

Touchaheart Nigeria reports that The United Kingdom has implemented a new rule to combat the spread of the new Coronavirus variation Omicron, which is thought to be a highly infectious version.

In the United Kingdom, two cases of the novel variety have been reported.

According to Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s latest directive, all visitors to the UK would be required to take a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test by the end of their second day in the country.

According to him, travelers must isolate themselves until they acquire a negative test result. “All international arrivals must take a Day 2 PCR test and self-isolate until they receive a negative result.

Touchaheart reports that all contacts of suspected Omicron cases must self-isolate for 10 days, regardless of their vaccination status. They will be contacted by NHS Test and Trace.

Face coverings will become compulsory on public transport and in shops – not including hospitality.

The JCVI (Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation) will consider giving boosters to a wider age group, as well as reducing the gap between the second dose and booster.” the new rule states Omicron has been labeled a “variant of concern” by the World Health Organization (WHO), which has urged world governments to take steps to stem its spread.
