Chris Cuomo Is Preparing To Sue CNN For The Remaining $18 Million Of His Pay

Chris Cuomo, a former CNN star anchor, is prepared to sue his former employer for the remaining $18 million on his contract, alleging that President Jeff Zucker (shown top left) was aware of his role in his brother’s sex scandal investigation.

Cuomo, 51, was dismissed by CNN on Saturday, December 4, for defending his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, against multiple sexual harassment charges.

Cuomo alleges CNN President Jeff Zucker was aware of his and his brother’s involvement, an allegation the network has disputed, calling it “patently false.”

Touchaheart Nigeria reports that Cuomo was ousted on Saturday after Attorney General Letitia James published a trove of papers proving that he had called his’sources’ about impending press exposes about his brother while attempting to dig up dirt on at least one of the former governor’s accusers.

According to the New York Post, Cuomo has engaged lawyers and is planning to sue CNN if the network does not pay him the remaining four years of his four-year deal, which pays him $6 million per year.

Sources tell the New York Post that the network has “no intention of paying Cuomo a penny,” and that “if he obtains a settlement, there would be an outcry.”

Legal analysts believe the documents released by the NY Attorney General gave the network legal grounds to fire Cuomo but that accusations that he sexually harassed a former co-worker at ABC was the final straw that led to his firing.

Cuomo joined CNN as a field anchor in February 2013 following stints at ABC and Fox News. After rising through the ranks, he was tapped in March 2018 to host Cuomo Prime Time.

His 9pm show was CNN’s highest rated broadcast. It drew an average of 774,000 viewers during November, when it ranked No. 25 among all cable TV news programs – right behind Anderson Cooper’s show.
