The Federal Executive Council has authorized a 20% raise in salary for Nigerian Police Force employees.

Touchaheart Nigeria reports that Muhammad Dingyadi, Minister of Police Affairs, told State House Correspondents about it after President Muhammadu Buhari presided over the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, December 15.

The move was made to increase the morale of police employees around the country, according to Dingyadi, who noted that the upward review is a result of issues voiced during the #EndSARS protests in October 2020.

The increase will be implemented in January 2022.
