Lawrence Taylor, A Former NFL Player, Was Arrested In Florida
Touchaheart Nigeria reports that Lawrence Taylor, a former NFL player, was arrested in South Florida on Thursday, December 16.
According to TMZ Sports, the former New York Giants superstar was arrested around 8:45 p.m. ET and released hours later. Before his release, the 62-year-old took for a mug shot.
The circumstances of Taylor’s arrest are unknown, however a representative for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that he was arrested for sex offender offences.
Lawrence Taylor pleaded guilty to sexual misbehavior and patronizing a prostitute in 2011 and was labeled a sex offender. Taylor was accused of having intercourse with a 16-year-old girl in the case, despite the fact that he claimed at the time that he thought she was 19.
Taylor is expected to be on top of several things as a sex offender, including notifying law authorities of any changes in home or name.
Taylor is widely regarded as the greatest defensive player in NFL history, despite his run-in with the police. He played his whole career with the Giants, from 1981 to 1993, as a great linebacker. He was a two-time Super Bowl champion, one-time NFL MVP, and three-time Defensive Player of the Year. He was a first-team All-Pro eight times and is, of course, a Hall of Famer.
The former football player has been jailed several times during his life, including three times in the late 1990s after reportedly attempting to purchase cocaine from undercover cops.
