Ayanna Davis, An English Teacher Was Arrested For Allegedly Having S*x With A Pupil  In A Snapchat Video

Ayanna Davis, a substitute English teacher at Lakelend High School in Florida, was detained after an alleged video shared on Snapchat purportedly showed her having s*x with a student, according to officials.

 

Touchaheart Nigeria reports that Ayanna Davis, 20, was arrested on s*xual battery charges on Friday, according to a news release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

 

According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation began on Dec. 3 after a student at the school reported to school resource officers the existence of a Snapchat video depicting Davis having s*x with a pupil. The video was presented to a large group of LHS football players, according to the student.

 

According to NBC station WFLA, deputies have not seen the footage and are looking for it.

 

An NBC News request for comment to a public defender representing Davis was not immediately returned. Davis could not be reached at any of the phone numbers given in her name.

 

According to the sheriff’s office, Davis admitted to having unprotected s*x with the student four times, twice at his home and twice at her own. According to the office’s press statement, her account matched what the victim told investigators.

 

According to Fox13, the connection had been going on for months but was only discovered when a kid notified a school resource officer about a Snapchat video showing the two having s*x.

 

Detectives with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested her after the interview on two counts of s*xual battery by a custodian and offenses against students by an authority figure.

 

Separately, a warrant by the Lakeland Police Department charges her with an additional two counts of s*xual battery.

 

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd slammed the incident as a “clear violation of sexual battery laws.”

 

“She was in a position of influence over the victim, and she took advantage of that for her own twisted pleasure,” Judd said.

 

Davis is no longer permitted to work at any Polk County Public Schools facility, according to the sheriff’s office. Davis was not a Polk County Public Schools employee, but rather worked for a staffing company.

“We expect substitute teachers to uphold the same high standards of conduct and professionalism as our full-time educators,” Superintendent Frederick

 Heid said in a statement. “The charges against this person are disgraceful and a complete violation of the trust that teachers build with their students. There is no room in our schools for this type of conduct.”

 

According to the announcement, Davis made her initial court appearance on Saturday, and a $60,000 bond was set against her for all five offenses. According to Polk County Jail records, she posted bail and was released from detention on Tuesday. The date of her arraignment has been set on January 10.
