Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed that he has told President Muhammadu Buhari of his presidential ambitions.
Touchaheart Nigeria reports that Tinubu remarked this during an interactive session with State House Correspondents after meeting Buhari in Aso Rock on Monday, January 10, according to Daily Trust.
According to Vanguard, the APC national leader is also at the White House to meet with President Buhari about general matters concerning Nigeria, including some of the party’s worries as well as security concerns.
When asked if he has notified President Buhari of his desire to run for President in 2023, he replied,
“I have informed the President of my ambition but I have not informed Nigerians yet, I am still consulting.”
Asiwaju Tinubu responded to the President’s statement by saying that the President, as a democracy, did not ask him to withdraw from the race.
