Touchaheat Nigeria reports that on January 4, police officers attached to the Enugu Metro Area Command of the Enugu State Police Command arrested 52-year-old Ifeanyi Amadikwa, pictured above, of 74 Nkwubor Road, Emene, Enugu, for allegedly murdering and dumping his three female children, namely Chidalum Amadikwa, 11 (his step-daughter), Amarachi Amadikwa, 8, and Ebubechukwu Am
The suspect’s wife, who is also the mother of the children, walked to the market with her sole male child, leaving the others in the suspect’s supervision, according to preliminary investigation. However, when she returned in the evening of the specified date, she was unable to locate any of the three youngsters.
During their hunt for them, the suspect pointed out the abovementioned fridge, which he had carried home from his business on January 2nd and kept in their apartment’s balcony. Closer inspection revealed the children’s lifeless bodies in the fridge, along with bruises, implying that they had been murdered and dumped in the fridge.
The lifeless bodies of the youngsters were immediately brought to the hospital, where they were verified dead by medical personnel on duty, and deposited in the morgue for preservation and autopsy, according to DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the state police command’s spokesperson.
While expressing his condolences to the mother of the slain children, Ndukwe stated that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Abubakar Lawal, has assured him that the police will conduct a comprehensive investigation into the case and ensure that justice is served.
