According to to rumors, if Manchester United fails to qualify for the Champions League next season, Cristiano Ronaldo’s £385,000 weekly wage will be reduced by 25%.
The Portuguese striker joined United from Juventus for £20 million this summer, but he and the club have struggled for form, with United presently languishing in the seventh position.
In the race for Champions League football, Ralf Rangnick’s side is two points behind fourth-placed West Ham with a game in hand.

According to The Athletic, if the club does not close the deficit to fourth place by the end of May, Ronaldo’s income would be deducted.
That means Ronaldo’s weekly wage of £385,000 will be lowered to £288,000, the lowest wage the 36-year-old has ever earned.
Last year, Sportsmail claimed that Ronaldo agreed to a huge pay cut from his £500,000-a-week deal at Juventustoo to seal his Old Trafford homecoming.
Despite the pay cut, Ronaldo remains the highest-paid player in Rangnick’s squad, with United goalkeeper David de Gea reportedly earning £375,000 per week.
Since returning to United last summer, Ronaldo has 14 goals in 23 games, although just eight of them have come in the Premier League.
