In response to the #UkraineRussianWar, Russia has blocked Twitter and Facebook.
The Russian government has barred access to Twitter and Facebook and established a new rule that allows for up to 15 years in prison for those who distribute “false news” about the war.
According to reports from numerous media outlets, a number of news organizations and social media sites, in addition to Twitter and Facebook, have been blocked in the country.

Der Spiegel writer Mathieu von Rohr confirmed the development by tweeting about the blocking of Twitter, Facebook, and news organizations BBC and Deutsche Welle.
According to Facebook CEO Nick Clegg, the social media platform declined to comply with Russian requests that it cease fact-checking and labeling anything published by media outlets.
“We were directed by Russian authorities yesterday to suspend independent fact-checking and labeling of content posted on Facebook by four Russian state-owned media groups,” Clegg added. “We said no.” As a result, they’ve indicated that they’ll limit who can access our services.”
