FG Responds To ASUU’s 2 Months Strike, “We’ve met all of your demands”

The Federal Government has responded to the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ (ASUU) decision to extend its strike by two months.

The union declared today in a statement that the one-month warning strike that began on February 14 will be extended. The union’s decision to extend the strike was based on the federal government’s refusal to meet its demands.

In response to this decision, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, Minister of State for Education, told reporters at the end of the commemoration of the 2022 Commonwealth Celebration in Abuja on Monday, March 14, that the government has addressed all of ASUU’s requests.

All earned allowances, as well as revitalization funding, have been released, according to Nwajiuba.

“ASUU announced and we met and everything that they have demanded, we have done all of them including the earned allowances and the revitalisation fund; they choose to extend it for two months may be,” he said.
