1. Ongoing reforms to the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC) could result in prospective graduates being prosecuted in court if they fail to show up for their fatherland’s annual service scheme. Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim, the NYSC Director-General, announced this on Friday.

2. The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Students Union has given the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) chapter at LAUTECH 72 hours to withdraw from the ongoing strike. Anuoluwa Adeboye, the organization’s president, and Gabriel Mich ael, the organization’s public relations officer, signed a statement to that effect.

3. Armed Boko Haram insurgents, suspected to be from the ISWAP faction, stormed the Gubio Local Government Headquarters in Borno State yesterday and kidnapped the Principal Medical Officer, PMO, Dr Geidam Bulama, the council’s only medical doctor.

6. According to the Federal Government, Section 84(12) of the Electoral Act 2022 will be repealed. Friday night, Attorney General and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami issued a statement outlining the government’s position.

Candidates for the position of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have submitted their expressions of interest and nomination forms to the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, ahead of the party’s national convention on March 26.
