Terrorists Attack Train Passengers On The Abuja-Kaduna Rail Line
Touchaheart reports that suspected terrorists blasted Abuja-Kaduna rail rails on Monday evening, attacking a train carrying roughly 970 passengers.
According to reports, the Kaduna-bound train derailed when a terrorist-placed explosive device detonated beneath one of the cars.
According to Anas Iro Danmusa, who claimed to be a railway passenger, the attackers fired shots at the train, and passengers hid beneath the seats to escape being hit by bullets.
“Villagers along Abuja-Kaduna road called to confirm hearing multiple gunshots and attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train by terrorists,” Shehu Sani, a former Nigerian senator from Kaduna State said on Twitter.
Nigerian army later rescued the passengers, according to a statement from a Kaduna State official.
“Relevant action agencies were urgently contacted, and robust deployments of personnel were swiftly made to the area to secure the passengers on board,” Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said.
“Efforts are ongoing to convey the passengers from the location and others that sustained injuries have been rushed to hospitals for urgent medical attention.”
The train attack came just days after militants attacked a hamlet near Kaduna International Airport, preventing a plane from taking departure on time.
