Adamu Aliyu, Chairman of Miyetti Allah, was assassinated in Abuja

Adamu Aliyu, the Chairman of Miyetti Allah, was shot and killed in Abuja.

Touchaheart reports that bandits infiltrated the Gwagwalada Area Council in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, and killed Adamu Aliyu, the chairman of the Miyyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).

This online news source reports that  Miyetti Allah Chairman Adamu Aliyu was assassinated along with four others near Daku village in the Dobi ward of the council on Thursday, but the news was first released today, Sunday, April 10, 2022.

In an interview with the Daily Trust on Sunday, the Secretary of MACBAN, Mohammed Usman, announced the death of Miyetti Allah Chairman Adamu Aliyu. According to the report, three people were kidnapped, while three others were shot and are being treated at the University of Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada.

The incident occurred last Thursday about 5 p.m., when the late MACBAN chairman and others were returning from Izom market in Niger state in a Dyna vehicle, when robbers suddenly emerged from the woods and began fire on the truck, according to the MACBAN Secretary.

The criminals damaged the windscreen of the truck carrying the late MACBAN and some passengers, according to him.

“They were returning from Izom market in Niger state where they went to sell cows, until just one kilometer to Daku village when the bandits suddenly emerged from the bush and opened fire on the truck, killing the MACBAN chairman and four others,” he said.

Saleh, Aliyu, Muhammadu, and Saidu were among those killed, according to him, and their bodies had been buried according to Islamic rites.

The report by Daily Trust monitored by TOUCHAHEART NIGERIA, said combined security agents comprising of soldiers, civil defence corps, mobile police and vigilante led by the Gwagwalada police area commander were at Daku village before the remains of the deceased were buried.

The chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, confirmed the incident to our reporter on telephone but declined to speak further, saying he was in a meeting and that he would call back later.

Meanwhile, Touchaheart Nigeria adds that the spokesperson for the FCT police command, DSP Adeh Josephine, has yet to pick up the phone or respond to a text message given to her as of the time of filing this article.
