However, claims surfaced on Saturday, April 9, 2022, claiming that she died of throat cancer, while another gospel musician, Frank Edwards, claimed that the Ekwueme singer died as a result of domestic abuse.

It was said that her husband got all the money she was paid for whatever job she was called for and gives her whatever he feels. He beats her at every little argument, which her first son confirmed. He refused her from seeing any of her family members, not even her twin sister. He also refused her from driving the cars gifted to her by her fans, making her take public transport every time.
He instilled evil morals in his children, telling them that beating a woman is good.
