Pilots Dead As Nigerian Air Force jet Crashes In Kaduna
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has lost control of an aircraft in Kaduna State, northern Nigeria.
Details of the incident are still vague, however sources told Daily Trust that the pilots of the ill-fated plane were murdered in the incident, which occurred less than a year after key military officers, including General Ibrahim Attahiru, former Chief of Army Staff, were slain in a similar occurrence.
The news comes 11 months after a Nigerian Air Force plane crashed near Kaduna. A Beechcraft 350 was involved in the event, which occurred in May 2021, and the plane crashed near the Kaduna international airport.
Ibrahim Attahiru, the Chief of Army Staff, and ten other military officers on board were killed when the plane crashed. Attahiru was said to be on his way to Kaduna for an army recruit passing-out ceremonial.
Following the event, members of the minority caucus in the House of Representatives asked President Muhammadu Buhari‘s administration to launch a “system-wide probe” into similar instances involving military aircraft in the country.
