Tony Nwoye Gets Disqualified By The PDP Screening Panel

Tony Nwoye has been dismissed by the PDP Screening Panel ahead of the Anambra North 2023 election.

Touchaheart reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s primary opposition party, recently screened Senatorial contenders and recorded its first casualty in the person of Tony Nwoye.

Tony Nwoye was angling to earn the opposition party’s ticket in the upcoming 2023 general elections, this internet news outlet reports that before the PDP Screening Panel disqualified him for the Anambra North Senatorial Election 2023.

Tony Nwoye, a senatorial aspirant for Anambra North, who only recently pivoted back to the party after cross carpeting to the All Progressive Congress (APC), was said to come under the hammer due to reports and petitions filed against him with regard to his alleged penchant for thuggery, assassinations, cultism and the widely celebrated burning of the Anambra State Government House in 2004 when he was said to have led the team of daredevil hoodlums that perpetrated the dastardly act.

There are also rumours that a notable senior citizen from the country’s southeast, who once took Tony Nwoye under his wing, had previously filed a petition against him that bordered on a fraudulent collection of cash through deception.

Touchaheart reports that PDP insiders acknowledged that the panel made this choice to avoid a situation where a major liability would fly the party’s ticket, jeopardising its chances in the general election.

The PDP, it was learned, is not taking any chances in the upcoming general elections, believing that given the country’s current mood, which has seen Nigerians reject the APC, it has a good chance of assuming power, and that the only way to do so is to present credible and sellable candidates with track records of service delivery and unimpeachable characters.

According to sources in the PDP, the main opposition party recognises that it is in the same situation as the APC in the months and weeks running up to the 2015 general election, and that it cannot risk its ticket on doubtful personalities.
