What Every JAMB Candidate Should Know About the 2022 UTME

Below is a list of everything JAMB candidates should know about the 2022 UTME.

Touchaheart reports that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will begin the 2022 edition of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) across Nigeria’s 36 states and federal capital territory (FCT) today, Friday, May 6, 2022.

The 2022 UTME is a computer-based test that acts as an entrance examination for secondary school leavers seeking admission into Nigerian public tertiary institutions, according to this online news source.

Touchaheart Nigeria reports that every year, over 1.5 million candidates sit for the examination. This year, JAMB said 1,837,011 candidates registered for the examination.

JAMB said it has made preparations for a successful examination across the 750 test centres across the country.

The examination organisation has, however, provided a list of dos and don’ts for candidates, warning that failing to follow its guidelines to the letter will not be tolerated.

“Candidates are also to note that no examination would be rescheduled for whatever reason,” JAMB said.

Reprint JAMB Slip [jamb reprint slip]

The examination will be place between Friday, May 6, and Saturday, May 14, according to JAMB. As a result, candidates should reprint their slips beginning April 30.

It stated that the details of the centre and dates for each of the candidates are provided so that the candidates are aware of their assigned examination centres, session, time, and dates.

JAMB said the reprinting of slip can be done anywhere on a computer with an internet connection and a printer. “And candidates are to go to the examination centre with at least a copy of the slip.”

JAMB Centre: “Know your centre” for JAMB 2022

To minimise lateness to their locations, JAMB advised that candidates who are not familiar with their test centres should visit the venue ahead of their dates of the examination so as to find it easier to locate on the date of their examination.
