There have been rumours that French forward Kylian Mbappe may join Real Madrid after the current season ends.

The transfer mystery of Kylian Mbappe continues, with the PSG striker’s future still up in the air. There have been rumours that the French striker may join Real Madrid after the current season ends. Mbappe’s current PSG contract expires on June 30. In a tweet, Kylian Mbappe’s mother has spoken out about her son’s future at PSG.

Kylian Mbappe’s mother, Lamari Fayza, made a statement on Twitter, saying, “There is no agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain (or any other club). Discussions around Kylian’s future are continuing in a climate of great serenity to allow him to make the best choice, with respect for all parties.”

Mbappe’s mother reportedly travelled to Doha with PSG to sign a new contract with the player, according to the Spanish outlet MARCA. According to the article, PSG wants a French forward in their squad at least for the 2022/23 season, which coincides with the Qatar World Cup, Qatar’s highest achievement in football. Another possibility, according to the article, is that PSG might entice Kylian Mbappe to sign a two-year contract extension with the guarantee that the club will ease his sale if he decides to leave at the end of the first season.

Kylian Mbappe PSG Career

The 23-year-old was instrumental in PSG’s Ligue 1 title victory this season.
Kylian Mbappe has scored 24 goals and provided 15 assists in 32 Ligue 1 appearances thus far. In total, he has 167 goals and 76 assists in all competitions with PSG.
Despite his goal-scoring exploits, the French footballer was unable to assist PSG win the Champions League this season when the French champions were eliminated by Real Madrid (3-2 on aggregate).

In the first leg of the pre-quarterfinal, he scored a key goal in the 94th minute to earn a 1-0 victory over the Galacticos.

In the second leg, he scored again in the 39th minute, but his French colleague Karim Benzema scored a hattrick to give Real Madrid the victory. Mbappe has already made an impression on the international stage. He scored four goals at the 2018 FIFA World Cup as a 19-year-old to help his team win the tournament.
