2023 Elections: Emefiele Petitions The Court, See Why

Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has filed a lawsuit in Abuja against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Attorney General the Federation (AGF), requesting that his right to run for President in 2023 without resigning from his current position be upheld.

The CBN governor contended in a petition filed on his behalf by a constitutional lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, SAN, that if he is not permitted to run in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election scheduled for May 30th and June 1st, 2022, he will suffer irreparable harm.

The case has been fixed for hearing today, Monday.
