They were unfortunate to meet a Chelsea team intent on getting within confirmation of a Champions League place, rather than resting players for Wembley. Kovacic’s injury was a blow but they are no longer looking over their shoulder in the top-four race.

Mason Mount opened the scoring early on before Leeds were reduced to 10 men, then Christian Pulisic added and Romelu Lukaku added more. Kovacic’s injury injury aside, it was perfect preparation for the weekend.
