The local currency closed on Sunday morning, July 10, 2022, at N610.00 per $1, and it started today, Monday, July 11, 2022, at N615.00 per $1 on the parallel market, also referred to as the black market, in Lagos, Nigeria.
Touchaheart reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not acknowledge the parallel market, sometimes known as the black market, the dollar to naira exchange rate opened at 615 for $1 today. As a result, the central bank advised anyone in need of foreign currency to contact their bank, reiterating that the I&E window is only known exchange.
The players purchase a dollar on the black market for N610 on Monday morning, July 11, 2022, and sell it for N615 after purchasing N615 and selling it for N610 on Sunday morning, July 10, 2022.
