Funke Akindele Announced As Lagos State Deputy Governor Candidate
In a sponsored promo that aired on Arise TV on Tuesday, Jandor revealed that the popular “Omo Ghetto” artist, Funke Akindele, had been selected.
He asserts that Funke, who, like the current Deputy Governor, is from Ikorodu and the Lagos East Senatorial District, is extremely popular and will win the election.
On Tuesday, the actress declared in a video posted to her verified Instagram page that she was running for deputy governor.
She explained her motivations in a video that she posted on Tuesday.
She said, “I saw it as an opportunity to help liberate and improve the wellbeing of our people, particularly the deprived youth, women and the girl child.
“My decision is not just to accept this huge responsibility but to also work tirelessly and complement Jandor’s burning desire to see our dear Lagos live up to its full potential.”
The Lagos native, who was born in Ikorodu, left out the name of her husband, Bello, when she gave her name at the end of the video.
