Oyetola is defeated by Adeleke outside Government House
Senator Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, defeated Gboyega Oyetola, the governor of Osun State, in the polling location next to the Government House in Osogbo.

While Agowande, in Olorunda, Oyetola, who ran on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), received 106 votes, Adeleke received 117 votes at the GRA Polling Unit.
The Olorunda Local Government Area is home to the polling place.
Despite the fact that there were 15 candidates running for the position of governor, Oyetola of the APC and Adeleke of the PDP reportedly engaged in a fierce campaign.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reported that there were 332 Registration Areas (RAs) and 5,305 Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) available for the election.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Abdulganiyu Raji, revealed this last week as part of election preparations.
The commission further stated that Osun has 332 registration locations, 1,955,657 registered voters, but only 335,298 had Permanent Voter Cards gathered (PVCs).
