Jill Biden, First Lady Of US Tests Positive For COVID-19

The First Lady of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden, tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently experiencing minor symptoms.

This was revealed on Tuesday by Elizabeth Alexander, her director of communications.

“After testing negative for Covid-19 on Monday during her regular testing cadence, the First Lady began to develop cold-like symptoms late in the evening. She tested negative again on a rapid antigen test, but a PCR test came back positive,” said Alexander.

According to Alexander, the first lady is taking Pfizer’s antiviral medication Paxlovid despite having received two booster shots and two double vaccinations.

Biden received her second booster shot in April, she told CNN.

The First Lady is the oldest sitting first lady in contemporary American history at 71 years old. She works out several times each week and attends programs at neighborhood clubs.

According to her spokesperson, CNN reported that the First Lady’s COVID-19 was a first for her.

Along with President Joe Biden, who will return to Washington for a bill signing later on Tuesday, the first lady is currently visiting Kiawah Island in South Carolina.

“She is currently staying at a private residence in South Carolina and will return home after she receives two consecutive negative COVID tests,” Alexander added.
