Manchester United Considers Signing Dortmund Right-back, Thomas Meunier

Underperforming Before the summer transfer window closes, Manchester United is thinking about acquiring Thomas Meunier, a right-back for Borussia Dortmund.

Diogo Dalot is the only player who can fill that role, and Erik ten Hag has ambitions for the 30-year-old Belgian in the team, according to the club news from Thursday.

Meunier has already talked about his love for the Red Devils, according to the nightly news from Manchester United.

The former PSG player remarked in April that United is a “unique club,” and in 2018 he claimed to have “always been a fan” of the Reds.

The Telegraph reports that a cost of about €15 million has been suggested for the Belgian.

Furthermore, the article indicated that if United wanted to recruit Meunier, they could have to compete with Barcelona, who are rumored to have rekindled their interest in the Frenchman.

The full-current back’s deal with Dortmund expires in 2024, and a transfer to Old Trafford may only be taken into consideration if the team is successful in offloading Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

A contract with Wan-former Bissaka’s team, Crystal Palace, may be negotiated, according to the source. Ten Hag has no plans for the Englishman, and the club is hoping to sell or loan the 24-year-old this summer.

According to rumors, Palace would be willing to offer Wan-Bissaka £10 million, which is a substantial decrease from the £50 million they originally asked for him.

Meunier is reportedly better capable of competing with Dalot this season than Wan-Bissaka, which is what Ten Hag is rumored to be looking for in a right-back.
