In 6 Months Nigerians Would Appreciate APC Government – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari says that Nigerians will be grateful to the All Progressives Congress (APC) government for allowing them the freedom to cast their ballots for the candidate of their choice in six months.

This was said by Buhari on Tuesday at the State House in Abuja when he hosted members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) under the leadership of its chairman and governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.

The President declared that his administration would not permit Nigerians to be intimidated in the general elections of 2023.

He said, “We will not allow anyone to use personal resources or their influence to intimidate other Nigerians. We will not allow intimidation materially, morally, or physically. This is the kind of leadership that can emerge and consolidate our nation.

“In six months, Nigerians will appreciate the government of APC that we are sincere and we respect them.’’

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Femi Adesina, Buhari stated that non-interference in elections encourages participation and inclusivity while giving legitimacy to the political process.

Buhari promised that the APC would continue to make sure that elections represent the preferences of the electorate while mentioning recent gubernatorial elections in the states of Ekiti, Anambra, and Osun.

“I want Nigerians to know that we respect them, and for us to show that we will allow them to vote who they want. We all witnessed what happened in Anambra, Ekiti, and Osun states. What happened in those states gives me a lot of hope that we are succeeding.’’

Buhari further exhorted APC officials to intensify their planning and strategy-making for the general elections in 2023.
