In Lagos, Domestic Violence Claimed 5 Lives In A Single Year
According to the Lagos State Government, at least five persons have perished in the state’s recorded incidences of domestic and sexual violence over the course of the past 12 months.
Out of the 450 cases that were prosecuted in the state during that time, at least 150 people have been found guilty of various forms of sexual and gender-based assault.
At a press conference held at the state secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos to mark the domestic and sexual violence awareness month of September, the attorney general and commissioner for justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo, announced this in conjunction with the agency’s executive secretary, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi.
