The Academic Staff Union of Universities- ASUU- continues to be on strike, and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has blocked the route leading to the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos State to protest this (ASUU).
On Monday, September 19, in protest of the seven-month strike, students shut down a portion of the entrance to the international airport.

As a result, traffic was backed up as it tried to enter and exit the airport.
Even though there were several police officers present, the protesting students persisted.
Last week, the students shut down the Ibadan-Ife Road and the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
