Boat capsizes in Anambra state, leaving 30 people missing
A boat carrying 85 people overturned on Friday, October 7, in Umunnankwo community of Ogbaru Local Government Council of Anambra State, leaving 30 people unaccounted for.
According to eyewitness accounts provided to Daily Trust, the boat capsized as it was traveling toward Nkwo Market and Ogbakuba, both of which are located in Ogbaru LGA.
Approximately 30 people are still missing after the tragedy. Some of the passengers were saved, but several others perished, according to Hon. Pascal Aniegbuna, chairman of the Transition Committee for the Ogbaru Local Government Area.
