Under Elon Musk’s ownership, Twitter will start charging $20 per month for verification
For users to remain verified, Twitter plans to start charging them close to $20 per month.
According to a source, Elon Musk will oversee the rollout of a premium service that includes this.
“The whole verification process is being revamped right now,” Musk, who took over as the CEO of the social media platform Friday, October 28, tweeted Sunday, October 30.

The business also intends to increase Twitter Blue, an optional premium subscription that costs $4.99 per month, to $19.99 per month. The Verge said the price is susceptible to change, citing internal communications and sources with knowledge of the situation.
To keep up with the price increase, Twitter will increase its membership offerings, including verification.
Elon Musk intends to charge verified users a fee to maintain their status as verified.
According to The Verge, existing verified users have 90 days after the new Twitter Blue’s introduction to sign up for it in order to keep their blue checkmarks.
The current version of Twitter Blue was introduced roughly a year ago and gives subscribers access to some publishers’ articles without advertisements as well as more personalization options.
Musk has been open about both his intention to rework the platform’s verification procedure and his ambition to increase subscriber numbers to make up half of Twitter’s revenue.
