21 People Including Children Die In Egypt As Bus Crashes Into A Canal

Three children among 21 persons confirmed dead (according to the country’s Health Ministry) after a bus plunged into a canal on Saturday, November 12, in Egypt’s Nile River Delta.

Three children were among the dead, according to Dr. Sherif Makeen, a representative of the health ministry.

The tragedy, according to a statement from the ministry, took place in the Dakahlia region, which is located around 100 kilometers (62 miles) northeast of Cairo. Other hurt travelers were taken to a nearby hospital.

Although the precise cause of the accident has not been officially confirmed, the incident was reportedly related to a broken steering wheel.

Brig. Mohamed Abdel Hadi, the provincial police investigation’s commander, suggested that the driver may have lost control of the car’s steering wheel.

In the southern province of Minya, a passenger bus collided with a parked trailer truck on a highway in July, killing 23 passengers and injuring 30 others. At least 10 people were killed when a truck struck a minibus in Dakahlia in October, according to the authorities.
