Nigeria’s Top Journalist, “CKN”, Obtains a Second Class Upper in Law

Chris Kehinde Nwandu, a leading journalist and online publisher in Nigeria, earned a second class upper division in law.

Nwandu graduated from Leadcity University’s 15th Convocation event, which was conducted on Saturday in Ibadan.

Chris Kehinde Nwandu, who earned his first degree from Lagos State University 32 years ago, joined his peers at the graduation ceremony, which was presided over by the university’s vice chancellor Prof. Kabiru Adeyemo and other top administrators.

Nwandu stated to reporters present at the event that he chose to study law in order to advance and widen his knowledge.

2015 saw one victim of Nigeria’s cybercrime laws

Nwandu remembered being detained for 13 days at Ikoyi Prison after being arrested in 2015 for a statement he made while serving as the Editor in Chief of CKN News.

He claims that the fact that the case was ultimately dismissed was another driving force behind his decision to pursue law school at the age of 55.

Regarding his future plans, Mr. Nwandu stated that he anticipates being deployed for the required Law School curriculum at some point soon.

Hear him out:

I’m glad to have realized a childhood fantasy.

Combining my employment with full-time academics, especially law, was not an easy feat, but I was determined to succeed at it.

The majority of my classmates shared the same age as my daughter, who graduated from Bowen University last year with a first-class degree in computer science.

The age difference was not a deterrent for me; instead, it served as incentive.

I want to take this chance to thank my family for all of their support and my professors at the Faculty of Law Leadcity University for helping me achieve my lifelong goal.

Chris Kehinde Nwandu belongs to numerous professional organizations, including the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Councilators, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Arbitration.

Nwandu hosts the well-liked political program INSIDE POLITICS WITH CKN on STV and NEWS24. He is a public affairs analyst.
