Election: Dapo Abiodun Urges Christians To Follow In Christ’s Footsteps

The governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has urged the state’s Christians to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ by exhibiting compassion and sharing the message of peace as real followers of Christ as the world celebrates Christmas.

The governor, who made the request in a holiday letter signed by Kunle Somorin, his chief press secretary, stated that because Christmas is about the birth of the Messiah, who came to preach love throughout his lifetime, his followers must live by the watchwords of peace and love.

He continued by saying that while Christians should always celebrate the birth of Christ because he died for the redemption of humanity, they must do so in moderation.

The governor further urged them to use this lucky time to show kindness to the less fortunate and those in need so that they will feel loved during the holiday season.

Abiodun noted that Christians should not only celebrate at this time, but they must also embark on spiritual intercession on behalf of the country, especially now that it is being confronted with socioeconomic challenges.

The governor who observed that Nigerians are going through a challenging period said that hope should not be lost on the possibility of a better Nigeria.

He expressed optimism that the country will overcome its current challenges and would come out a stronger, more united, and secure nation.

However, in order to be allowed to vote in the general election of 2023, Abiodun urged the residents of the state to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards.

He also urged students to vote for persons who had strong character, honesty, and talent rather than being duped by dishonest politicians.

The governor reaffirmed the dedication of his administration to upholding good governance and creating an environment that encourages investment, stressing that the welfare and well-being of Ogun employees and citizens will always come first.
