Touchaheart Nigeria reports that a man was detained and charged after allegedly dousing his 18-year-old daughter in hot oil after she intervened to stop him from hitting her mother.
According to B-Metro, the young woman from Sauerstown in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, was beaten by her angry father and “fried” with cooking oil as retaliation for trying to stop him from beating up her mother. She was then taken to Mpilo Central Hospital.
Anele Moyo, 38, was then charged with two charges of assault and appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Malvin Shortgame.
He entered a plea of guilty to both counts and was kept behind bars until his sentence on January 12, 2023.
Due to the girl’s medical examination results, the court had to postpone sentencing so that the magistrate could determine a “suitable” sentence.
