2023 Election Result: Peter Obi Weeps On Live TV (Video)

The presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP) in the just concluded election, Peter Obi says he won the election and will pursue all judicial avenues to reclaim his mandate.

Just before starting his first press conference following Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections, Obi held a moment of silence in honor of all those who were hurt or lost their lives during the February 25 election.

“We will explore all legal and peaceful option to reclaim our mandate. We won the election and we will prove it to Nigerians,” Obi said at a press conference on Thursday in Abuja.

“I am challenging the process,” Peter Obi said to a room full of journalists in Nigeria’s capital city, his first media appearance after the declaration of a winner by the electoral umpire.

“This is very unfair. It is the least expected of Nigeria,” he said, adding that “a new Nigeria is possible, and I will work for that new Nigeria… Datti and I remain committed to that new Nigeria.”

When the LP presidential candidate was asked if he was under pressure, he said no one can put him under pressure for challenging the rascality, saying that: “We have to go through this darkness. The structure of criminality can’t go out overnight.

“All we need to show is commitment and resilience. I will be at the forefront and will work through this darkness until daybreak,” Obi vowed.

Obi, who bemoaned the fact that Nigeria cannot hold elections 63 years after becoming independent, reassured the country’s youth that he is staying and will continue to fight for a new Nigeria.

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate stated that the election did not satisfy the requirements for a free and fair election and that it will be remembered as the most contentious one ever held in Nigeria.

Recall that Touchaheart News had previously reported that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate had been proclaimed the victor of the 2023 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This online news source understands Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the INEC chairman, declared Tinubu the winner at precisely 4.10 am today in Abuja. With this statement, Tinubu would become Nigeria’s 16th president since the country’s independence in 1960.
