The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the PDP candidates – Mr. Benson Agadaga, Senator Seriake Dickson, and Mr. Benson Kombowei – as the winners of Saturday’s Bayelsa senatorial election.
Dickson is a state legislator, Agadaga is a former Chief of Staff to Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri, and Kombowei is a former Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government.
Professor Emmanuel Akpan of the Federal University of Otuoke in Bayelsa, the Returning Officer for the Bayelsa East Senatorial District, declared Agadaga the winner of the senatorial election.
He claimed that Agadaga received 22,517 votes to defeat his closest rival, All Progressive Congress Senator Degi Eremieyor (APC).
Dickson was declared the winner of the senatorial election by the Returning Officer for Bayelsa West, Professor Samuel Enahoro of the Federal University, Otuoke.
He stated that Dickson received 27,231 votes, defeating his main opponent, Mr. Ayakpo Danyegha of the APC.
Professor Chris Onyema, the Returning Officer for Bayelsa Central, declared Kombowei the winner of the senatorial election.
According to Onyema, Kombowei received 51,202 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Tiwei Orumiegha of the APC. (NAN)
