Elections: I’m in it to win it – Adelabu

The Accord Governorship candidate in Oyo State,  Chief Adebayo Adelabu has stated that on the contrary,  he is in the race to win and will not resign for anyone.

This was in a statement released on Saturday in Ibadan by the Bayo Adelabu Campaign Organisation (BACO).

“The rumour of my stepping down is the work of political desperados, who are desperate to keep Oyo in a web of lies and inefficiency,” Adelabu, a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), said.

He said that the rise in misinformation, malignment, and blatant fake news directed against him in the days leading up to the March 11 election was evidence of the electorate in the state’s embrace of his message of awakening.

According to the Accord governorship candidate, the phony rumor of his resignation demonstrated that other contenders were already concerned about his popularity.

Adelabu insisted that the people of the state were already aware of some politicians’ shenanigans, and that it would not get them anywhere in the governorship election.

“Their rage stems from the fact that the folks have awakened and are ready to reclaim their state. I have not and will not join in their politics of character assassination, bitterness, and lies during my campaign.

“We want to inform the good people of Oyo State that there was no time Chief Adebayo Adelabu conducted any meeting with any candidate or political parties with a view to stepping down.

“This is again another untruth from a political schizophrenic whose political career has been built on deception and manipulation. Adelabu will not resign for anyone,” he stated.

He also promised to focus on how young people might rediscover their ability to dream, while utilizing technology for the benefit of all.

According to him, “I am focused on informing voters about where their fingerprints will be placed on March 11.”

“Adelabu is running for governor of Oyo State on the Accord platform, and our door is open to any candidate who wants to join us in liberating the state.”
