Police Kill Suspected Kidnapper In Delta, Rescue Victim

touchaheart Nigeria reports that A suspected kidnapping gang member was shot dead by police officers at Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State, while they were attempting to save a victim.

 

The State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, who made this announcement in a statement, stated that the deceased passed away following a gunfight with police officers.

 

A man (name withheld) was kidnapped and was being transported in his Toyota Corolla car, according to the statement, which stated that the kidnappers were traveling along the Akiweh express in the direction of Ozoro town.

 

A squad of police and vigilantes from the Ozoro and Akiweh communities was quickly assembled and led by CSP Ogedengbe Areguamen, the DPO for the Ozoro Division. When they came across the aforementioned Toyota Corolla car, they had partially blocked the road and were engaged in a thorough stop and search.

 

The perpetrators abandoned the victim and ran to the jungle while firing at the police as the team gave them a strong pursuit and demobilized the vehicle in an effort to halt the vehicle as the driver performed a U-turn in an attempt to flee.

 

One of the suspects in the ensuing gunfight, later identified as Oghene Fejiro “m,” a 27-year-old Oleh resident, was taken into custody after suffering gunshot wounds. The kidnapped victim, who is from Effurun, was rescued unharmed, and his Toyota car was recovered. One cut-to-size double barrel gun and two live cartridges were also found.

 

The injured suspect was transferred to the general hospital where he died while receiving treatment. The inquiry has started with the goal of catching the remaining members of the syndicate who are running away.
